The Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) is a measure of the seasonal overall heating efficiency - the higher, the better. Cooling efficiency can be compared using the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) or Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) ratings. Higher ratings indicate superior performance.
